Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Bishop Luis Antonio G. Tagle as the new archbishop of Manila.

"Tagle, 54, is the first Manila-born archbishop of Manila. He was ordained priest in 1982 and appointed Imus bishop in 2001. Imus is one of the suffragan dioceses of the Manila metropolitan archdiocese." -- Inquirer
"Rosales, 79, filed his resignation in accordance with canon law when he turned 75 in 2007. He was named Manila archbishop in 2003." -- Inquirer
