MANILA, Philippines – Shared experiences between parent and child — whether it is reading together, playing outside, or sharing meals — play an important part in the child’s development.

They help him grow mentally, emotionally, and socially, and seal the bond between parent and child through memories that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Last August 29, Friso held the second and last leg of their Experience Camp FunRaiders event at the atrium of the Shangri-La Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong City.

Experience Camp FunRaiders is an event organized by Friso aimed at enabling parents and their children to share a fun afternoon of experiences, something Friso greatly advocates. It also demonstrated Friso’s commitment to help parent and child grow better together through bonding and spending time with each other.

The atrium of Shangri-La Plaza Mall was transformed into a jungle safari that parents and their kids explored part by part for a fun afternoon of activities, learning, and bonding.

August 29 saw a full afternoon of activities for parents and kids with the help of event partners The Learning Library, KidzArt, Mizuno, and JoomaJam.

The Learning Library led a safari-themed storytelling activity. Storytelling helps a child develop language skills and teaches them to appreciate literature. It also helps sharpen their memory and opens them up to new worlds. Storytelling is a great way to teach children about history and values.

KidzArt conducted arts and crafts activities for the budding artists. Arts and crafts help children develop pattern recognition, sequence detection, and spatial rotation, according to parenting.com. This means that while kids get creative, they are sharpening skills needed for Math. Using the hands to create also improves motor skills.

Mizuno kept the parents and kids in running and kicking form with fun soccer drills. Active children are more likely to grow into active and physically healthy adults. Aside from having a healthy heart, they will also have better coordination and balance, sleep, and social skills. Parents need exercise to stay healthy for their kids, too!

JoomaJam provided space for the children to sing and dance. Music plays a very crucial role in the development of a child’s social skills. From being an inner experience, it becomes a shared experience, especially when they sing together. According to Paul Madaule of The Listening Centre, music increases children’s desire to “listen more, learn more, and know more.”

Developmental pediatrician Dr. Jack Herrin’s talk was called “Experience More Together.” He spoke on the importance of shared experiences between parent and child, and its impact on the child’s development. By “shared experiences,” this means parents are offline and focused on their child.

Being physically present around the child is not enough. It is important to communicate to the child; talk to him/her. Speaking to a child — without the distraction of digital devices — teaches him more words and increases his IQ, something he will benefit from for the rest of his life. It’s a challenge for busy parents to make time for this, but it is a challenge worth dealing with.

Friso also did the soft launch of FrisoMoms.com, a rewards program aimed at giving moms membership into a community where they can share tips and experiences with each other.

Friso encouraged participants to post photos on Twitter using the hash tags #ExperienceMoreTogether and #FrisoFunRaiders. Five winning posts were picked towards the end of the event. Each of the five winners received three 45g sachets of Friso Four.

The event closed at 6:00 PM. A total of 73 moms and 82 kids came to share the Experience Camp FunRaiders experience.

Sa pagdiriwang ng ika-45 taon sa showbiz ng nag-iisang Superstar, handog ng TV5 ang natatanging mga pagganap ni Ms. Nora Aunor ngayong weekend sa Untold Stories at Third Eye. Siguradong hindi na naman malilimutan ang mga papel na gagampanan ni Ate Guy sa mga nasabing palabas.

Humarap ang multi-awarded actress sa entertainment press para mag-promote ng kanyang espesyal na pagganap saUntold Stories bilang si Sister Thelma Layog at sa Third Eye bilang si Ditas Gregorio. Ilang araw lamang ang nakalipas mula nang makabalik ito mula sa Italya kung saan pinakita at pinarangalan ang pelikulang Thy Womb na idinirehe ni Brillante Mendoza.

Sa Untold Stories, gaganap si Ate Guy sa papel ng isang madreng piniling lumisan sa kumbento upang makasama ang lalaking minamahal. Ang naturang kwento ay hango sa tunay na buhay ng madre at ng kanyang asawang si Danny na gagampanan ni Yul Servo. Muling magtatambal ang dalawa matapos magkatrabaho sa pelikulang Naglalayag. Bagama’t pinagbigkis ng pag-ibig, hindi pa rin ligtas sa mga puna at pagsubok ang pagsasama ng dalawa — lalo pa’t halos dalawang dekada ang agwat ng kanilang mga edad.

Kaabang-abang din ang naiibang papel ni Ate Guy sa supernatural mystery drama na Third Eye. Siya rito si Ditas Gregorio, isang janitress sa isang paaralan na napilitang ipamalas ang mga ritwal na matagal na niyang tinalikuran upang sagipin ang mga inosenteng mag-aaral na sinapian ng demonyo. Sa direksyon ni Jon Red (siya rin naging direktor ni Ate Guy sa mini-seryeng Sa Ngalan ng Ina), ang episode na ito ay itinuturing na reunion project ni Ate Guy at ng Grand Slam actress na si Lorna Tolentino. May 30 taon na ang nakakalipas nang magsama ang dalawa sa kanilang unang pelikula (Mga Uod at Rosas).  Kwento ni LT, “Sa taping, kapag eksena na niya [Ate Guy], pinapanood at napapamangha na lang ako sa kanya. I told myself, ‘I want to act with her in a full-length movie. Kahit saan niyo pa kami dalhin.’”

Tuwang-tuwa rin ang batang aktres at bida ng Third Eye na si Eula Caballero nang muling makasama si Ate Guy sa isang TV project. “Napayakap na lang ako kay Ina (tawag ni Eula kay Ate Guy) noong makita ko siya uli sa taping. I owe a lot to her because she was generous enough to teach me everything when we were taping for Sa Ngalan.”

Matagumpay na pagpapalabas ng Thy Womb sa 69^th Venice International Festival kung saan nag-uwi ng Bisato d'Oro Award si Ate Guy. Iginawad ang parangal ng isang grupo ng independent film critics doon. Bitbit naman ni Direk Brillante ang La Navicella Venezia Cinema Award mula sa Rivista del Cinematografo. Habang nandoon si Ate Guy, ipinalabas din ang restored at high-definition version ng Himala sa naturang film festival. Magkakaroon din ng special screening ang Thy Womb sa Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Kaliwa’t kanan ang ipinapamalas na pagkilala sa kontribusyon ni Ate Guy sa showbiz. Kasalukuyang itinatanghal ang Bonana nauna nang pinagbidahan ng Superstar sa pelikulang idinerehe ni Lino Brocka. Pag-amin ng Noranian na si Eugene Domingo na siyang gumaganap na makabagong Bona, gusto niyang ma-please si Ate Guy sa kanyang pagbibigay-buhay sa karakter na minsan nang pinasikat ng Superstar. “Ang gusto ko mangyari, maaliw si Ate Guy sa Bona naming ito.  Ilang taon, ilang dekada niya tayong inaliw sa mahusay niyang pagganap, panahon na na siya naman ang ating aliwin,” pahayag ni Uge.

Huwag palalampasin ang back-to-back drama special ng nag-iisang Superstar ngayong Sabado sa Untold Stories(pagkatapos ng Artista Academy) at sa Linggo sa Third Eye (pagkatapos ng Who Wants to Be a Millionaire) sa TV5.

Nang pumanaw ang ama ni Luna, nalaman niya na isang wizard pala ang kanyang tatay at pinamanahan siya ng kapangyarihan nito. Hindi lang yun, may kapatid pala siya sa ama at huling bilin ng kanilang tatay ay patirahin ito sa kanilang bahay. Halos magka-edad sina Luna at Sol pero hindi sila magkasundo. Lalo na nang may lumipat na binata sa kabilang bahay at nagpaligsahan ang dalawa sa atensyon ni Orlando. 

Ginamit ni Luna ang kapangyarihan upang makalamang pero kahit anong gawin niya, tila walang epekto ito kay Sol. Lingid sa kanyang kaalaman, pinamanahan din pala si Sol ng mahika ng kanyang ama.

Batibot ng TV5 Kids, Season 4 na!

Nasa ika-apat na season na ang pinaka-paboritong programa ng mga bata – ang Batibot sa TV5 Kids. Kasabay nito ang pagpasok ng mga pinakabago nating mga kaibigang sina Koko Kwik Kwak, Pawi, Tikky, Kara, Rema, Lila, Tami at Ambak at Dakon Palaka. Ilan sa mga ito ay binase mula sa mga bagong-tuklas na animal species sa iba’t ibang parte ng bansa. Hindi lang nila sasamahan ang mga bata sa paghahatid ng kakaibang saya at malawak na kaalaman. Tuturuan din nila ang buong pamilya ng tamang pag-aalaga sa kapaligiran at pagkalinga sa mga hayop.

 Ayon sa executive producer at educator na si Feny Delos Angeles-Bautista, ang bagong season na ito ng Batibot ay may kakaibang ihahandog sa mga bata pati na rin sa mga child-at-heart. “Taglay ng mga bagong karakter ngBatibot ang iba’t-ibang katangian at personalidad,” sabi niya. Ang mga episodes ng Batibot ay naaayon sa bagong national curriculum na inihanda ng Department of Education para sa mga nasa kindergarten at sa early childhood programs ng Department of Social Welfare and Development. Tumutukoy ito sa kakayanan ng mga bata na matuto mula sa kani-kanilang learning experiences sa tahanan at sa paaralan at dahil din sa panonood ngBatibot, mas nagiging handa ang mga ito sa kanilang pagpasok sa iskuwela at pakikihalubilo sa ibang tao.

Maliban sa mga bagong Batibot barkada, dapat din abangan ang mga feature themes katulad ng pag-iingat sa tahanan, sa komunidad at isang espesyal na episode tungkol sa water safety. Ito ay upang maiwasan ng mga bata ang mga aksidente na kadalasang sanhi ng kamatayan at injury sa bansa. Abangan ang Batibot Season 4 tuwing Sabado at five-minute shorts Lunes hanggang Biyernes, 8:30-9:00 ng umaga sa TV5.
