
"American Idol" kicked off its highly anticipated season finale on Wednesday as two guys named David duked it out to take home the ultra-popular singing competition's coveted title.
Rocker, Bartender, David Cook, 25, won the much coveted title. Cook earned 12 million (votes) lead over Archuleta.

The "Davids" duel is the first time two male contestants have competed for the "Idol" title since Ruben Studdard defeated Clay Aiken in the show's second season in 2003. (reuters.com)

Reynaldo Lapuz, Carrie Underwood, Jonas Brothers and George Michael were among the performers during the finals night.
